Beef tartare, hearts, and marrow at Restaurant Bror (here)
Skt. Peders Stræde 24A, 1453 Copenhagen K
I haven’t talked much about my relationship with Mikkel on the blog. But when an anniversary is coming up it deserves a shout-out! And what better way to celebrate 6 years with my favourite man than going to one of the best restaurants in Copenhagen?
Some of our friends call us foodies. We both love food and there’s a lot of talk about food in our relationship; During the day when we come up with ideas on what to cook for dinner and especially when we go travelling. One of the best things about visiting new countries is to get to know their food culture. It’s a fantastic source of inspiration, too. You may have noticed that a lot of the food we cook is not typical Danish/Nordic food but rather inspired by the Middle Eastern and Asian kitchens. That being said, we absolutely love the New Nordic Cuisine, which we fell in love with when we visited NOMA a few years ago. This is also one of the main reasons why we celebrated our 6 year anniversary at Restaurant BROR.
The place is run by two previous sous chefs at NOMA and naturally the level of each dish is sky high. They serve a set 4-course menu with the possibility to add a few extra dishes. We love their tartare (photo above) and we always order that as an extra dish. It’s never boring to go. The set menu changes constantly as the seasons change and the ingredients are combined in new creative ways. All served on beautiful vintage plates.
